Our Middle School Ministry (Underground) is having a day JUST for guys, and a day JUST for girls. Here are the logos I made to promote these events. I think they turned out pretty fun and hopefully make our students giggle a little and then sign up!

Cupcakes!

Here are some photos of some cupcakes I made a while back. They were for a fall themed party.  Materials used:
melting chocolate in orange, yellow and red
leaves (only to make the mold of the leaves...I didn't make anyone eat actual leaves :)
Oreos
banana runts
caramels
chocolate sprinkles
M&Ms
chocolate and vanilla frosting and food coloring.

Kate: Senior Pictures

I had the privilege of shooting Kate, a senior here in Northern Virgina.  Isn't she gorgeous?!  Needless to say it was not hard to get some great shots of her!  Here are some of my favorite shots:

 

I know that was a lot...but I just couldn't choose!  If you have a favorite, let me know because I'm working on choosing some of my favorite pictures that I've taken to frame and hang in my office. And we all know, making decisions is not one of my strengths!

Trunk or Treat Photoshoot and Mailer

When I was asked to design the postcard to advertise for this years Trunk or Treat at our church, I was so excited because I wanted to make it a little more personal by showcasing some of our own cute kids within our church. So I asked some of our new friends if I could use their INCREDIBLY cute kids as my models and if they wouldn't mind their kids being the face of the event with cards going out to thousands of people. Luckily they were excited about it too! And seriously...aren't they the cutest ever?!  The little porcupine costume makes me swoon!  If you agree that these boys are the cutest, you can vote for them on the GAP Kids casting call website.  Vote here for Jackson  Vote here for Hudson
Anyway, here are some pictures from my time with the boys...although their costumes didn't stay on for long!  Also, below is the finished product for the postcard.

Here are some "We've Moved" change of address postcards I designed. They are a combination of hand-made sketches, and work in Photoshop and Illustrator.

Cupcakes!

I made some really cute cupcakes for one of my small group girls who turned 16. I surprised her by having an ASB kid deliver them to her in class. I must say, they turned out really cute...especially considering that we had about 35 high school seniors crammed into our apartment while I made them!

My photos, TOMS shoes, and ELLE magazine

Last month I did an engagement session for Jordan Maslyn and Sara Aadahl (more pictures to come). They met randomly in Virginia this summer because they were both wearing TOMS shoes. Their love story has created quite a buzz in the TOMS world...and they used my photos on both the TOMS shoes website, AND Elle Magazine website. It's quite an honor!

Juno you love our costumes.

For HSM's Pumpkinfest, Jared and I dressed up as Juno and Bleeker from Juno. And I must say, we looked pretty good.

On the way to pumpkinfest we stopped at 7-11 to get a slurpee (obviously) and the girl behind Jared said to him, "Your shorts look extra gold today." He was so caught off-guard that he forgot to say, "My mom uses color safe bleach." But still so funny.

There was also a kid at 7-11 who was FREAKING out over our costumes...it must have been his first halloween or something.

Anyway, check out our sweet get-ups. Not bad for a totally home-made costume right?

My Cupcakes

I know what you are going to say...so save it. And just enjoy this post.

My latest obsession/ venture/ life goal... is making cupcakes. I've always enjoyed making cupcakes...and I make a mean funfetti cupcake...but Taffy and Sue gave me a cupcake decorating book for my birthday and it's so much fun. It was a little frustrating at first. Ask Jared, I was almost in tears over those sunflower cupcakes...but I'm practicing and getting better. What do you think? Mamma Mia!

I saw Mamma Mia! (the movie) with my mamma last week... 1st of all, I loved it. It was so much fun and ABBA music is just great. I mean the movie doesn't compare to seeing the play live, as I got to do in London with the Hibbard family.

Anyway, watching Mamma Mia! made me think...they should make more musicals based on one bands music. I know they've done a Queen musical (We Will Rock You...saw that one in London too), a Beatles musical (Across the Universe), and a Billy Joel musical (Movin' Out...haven't seen it).

Here are some of my suggestions for bands that should have their own musical.

#1. The Cars ...how much fun would that be? I love The Cars
#2. 'N SYNC (I don't REALLY think that this would be that good, but I felt like if I didn't put it, I would be letting go of a piece of me)
#3. Spice Girls (oh wait...there was Spiceworld...my bad)
#4. Michael Jackson (I'm actually surprised there hasn't been one of these...maybe there is and I don't know about it)
#5. Bob Marley (for my husband)

Can you think of some other ones that would be fun?
